HOW IT STARTED

Like any great enterprise, Agenacare Aesthetics has a unique origin story.

It all started with our sister company: Agenacare Housecalls.

Agenacare Housecalls is a concierge care healthcare provider that comes to you. We serve patients across Virginia, with a strong focus in Southwest and Central Virginia in places like Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Salem, Lynchburg, Smith Mountain Lake, Franklin County, Botetourt County, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and more.

Our providers can help you with anything you would be seen and treated for at a traditional urgent care clinic or primary care physician's office.

The Agenacare difference? It’s all in the comfort of your home! It’s a modern twist on the concept of the old country doctor who made house calls.

PUGH’S PLAN

Whitney Pugh launched Agenacare Housecalls in August 2019. Pugh was a nurse practitioner with experience in a variety of medical settings. Those years of experience taught her so many valuable lessons but also showed her a lot of the underlying issues in healthcare.

Pugh’s goal with launching Agenacare? To change healthcare for the better. To provide a patient-first system that featured private pay, so as to avoid the headache of dealing with insurance companies. To prioritize patients' care and recovery above all else. The business grew rapidly, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

TOX ON THE GO

In those early days, Agenacare Housecalls offered TOX injections along with its other medical services. This was in response to a huge demand. Soon, patients started asking for aesthetic and cosmetic treatments beyond the scope of just neurotoxins.

Pugh had experience working for an aesthetics practice so the creation of such a practice under the Agenacare name was a natural transition.

Agenacare Aesthetics was officially launched on May 25, 2021 with a brick-and-mortar office in Roanoke, Virginia. The team expanded, adding an office in Danville, Virginia in August 2021.

RED CARPET CALIBER

Today, Agenacare Aesthetics offers the latest and greatest in aesthetic treatments and laser services. Pugh sought out technology that is highly-coveted by all, whether you’re walking a Hollywood red carpet or at a brunch table back here at home in Southwest Virginia.

Instead of going with a standard microneedling pen, Pugh invested in the Morpheus8 microneedling machine. This powerhouse tool uses radiofrequency energy to revitalize and reshape the face.

The team at Agenacare Aesthetics also offers signature PDO thread lifts. This procedure is a highly effective alternative to facelift surgery. The provider inserts dissolvable sutures into the skin which  build on the body’s own collagen, resulting in tighter, more lifted skin. The results can last for up to two years.

Our latest tool is the Tetra CO2 fractionated resurfacing laser, which treats wrinkles, age spots, frown lines, texture issues, large pores, sun spots and scars, including acne scars. The laser’s CoolPeel technology allows us to deliver the incredible results of a CO2 laser with a drastically-reduced downtime.

Pugh spared no expense in training her team to be the best of the best when it comes to injections, laser services, facials. and other aesthetic treatments. Pugh has flown in doctors to teach her team new techniques. The team has trained with some of the best injectors on the east coast. In the fall of 2022, the team participated in cadaver training and dissections, which are educational tools to maintain a high standard for safety and clinical experience. Course like this teach fundamental facial anatomy and ultimately make our team members more educated, informed injectors.
